Local Film Scene
West Tennessee’s film scene is heating up, and we’ve got some exciting updates to share!
It’s been such an incredible time here in West Tennessee, with a lot of growth happening for our local film scene. We’re seeing more energy, more projects coming together, and a real sense of momentum as we push forward.
First up, Matinee Memories is officially funded and ready to go into post-production! We’re beyond excited that this project has hit its fundraising goal and is ready to enter the next phase. The journey to this point has been a team effort, and we’re so grateful for everyone who has supported us along the way. We can’t wait to start editing and bring this film to life. The next step is just around the corner, and we’ll be sharing more updates on our progress as we dive deeper into the post-production process. It’s one step closer to seeing our vision come to life on screen, and we couldn’t be more excited!
For those interested in getting involved in some local productions, The Last Story of David Allen is looking for extras for a gala party scene being filmed at the Central Station Hotel in Memphis March 9th - 12th. This production features a talented cast, including Neil McDonough, Chris Mason, and Spencer Locke. Directed by Justin Gullett and produced by Paul Becker, this is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of something special. It’s a great chance to get involved, be a part of a fun event, and rub shoulders with some exciting people in the industry!
As for other updates, we’re seeing more local filmmakers getting involved, and there’s a sense of excitement in the air as people are rallying around the idea of making films in West Tennessee. The opportunities for collaboration, sharing stories, and bringing new projects to life are growing, and we couldn’t be more proud to be part of it. There’s an undeniable sense of community here, and we’re excited to see how our region’s filmmaking scene continues to grow and thrive.
We’re also watching as other local productions are gearing up, and it’s amazing to see the talent and ambition of our fellow filmmakers. From documentary projects to short films and beyond, it’s clear that West Tennessee has so much to offer in the way of creativity, passion, and storytelling. It’s an inspiring time to be involved in this community, and we’re honored to be part of it alongside so many other talented individuals.
